The purple petals represent the stepmother (bottom petal), her two daughters and her two step daughters. The four women sit around a bowl filled with porridge, and in the middle of the porridge there is a blur of rich, melted butter. Look close and you will see that only the mother and her two girls will get butter on their porridge. The step daughters must eat their porridge plain.
This story reminds me of the importance of sharing. Our garden is an open garden, not closed with fences or a hedge. And we want it so. Fell free to come and enjoy it.

I always wondered what the story behind "stemors blomster" was!
Pansy's are my Mom's favorite flower. I'll have to share your story with her.
There are no "steps" in our family, just my brother and I. I guess we'll all get butter, LOL!
Darla
Tracy - so you have learned the Norwegian name of the flower :-)
