I think this flower is called Bleeding Heart in English. Here in Norway we call it The Lieutenant's Heart. I have always wanted one in my gatden, but somehow never had any. Untill now.
I bought this one a couple of weeks ago. I had it in its pot the first week, and it looked sullen, almost dying. Then I planted it in a flower bed on the western side of the house before I went to England, and when I came home it was in full bloom.
Finally a lieutenant's heart is bleeding for me.

So happy you have one of these lovely things in your garden now! I love Bleeding Heart. We have huge pink & white one in our garden and it was gloriously heavy with blooms this year. I'd love to get an all white one for a new flower bed we plan to dig soon. Never enough flowers--LOL! Happy Days! :o)
Beautiful, Britt-Arnhild. Yes, we call it bleeding heart here, too. I have one growing in the breezeway which grows through an old wagon wheel.

I am so happy that you finally got your Lietenant's Heart. I have had mine for years and now I have a "daughter" from the Mother plant. I guess the little hearts went to seed and settled down on the opposite end of the flower bed so now I have two bleeding hearts -- Mother and Daughter.

One of my favouriteflowers to, in swedish it´s called, Löjtnads hjärta, almost the same as in Norweigan, but I prefer the english name, it´s much moore romantic.
