Beautiful! We have a rhodie that is just a little paler than yours and it is planted in the wrong place (nearly blocks a pathway now). So each year, after it blooms, I have to prune it back to keep it healthy. Every year it is just covered in blooms, too. Not too far from home is the Hood Canal. Along its banks in the lower end of the Canal are wild rhodies - these are a very pale pink. They go for miles and are breathtaking.
We don't really have the proper climate for rhododendrons, but I love them. Seeing yours reminds me of a trip my brother and I took to Vancouver Island where the rhododendrons grow larger than any I've seen before or since.
I live in Trondheim, Norway with my husband and two daughters. Two boys have moved out to create their own homes. I work full time, and have alot of interests, but there is hardly a day when you don't find me in the kitchen, playing with old and new recipes. And if I am not to be find it the kitchen, take a look in The Blue Garden. I am a member of the Slow Food movement and a supporter of the Slower Life. You can contact me at: knitwoman1958@yahoo.com
