The Playhouse is dressed for summer

As a girl I always wished for a playhouse. I remember a book I inherited from my mother about a pair of twin girls who were allowed to live in their playhouse for a few summer weeks, with their own budget. I loved that book and read it again and again.

Our two firsl children are boys, and I never thought of building a playhouse for them. Then Ingrid-Elise was born in the autumn og 1989, and the next summer my husband and my father in law built her a playhouse. I was thrilled.

When we moved here the playhouse moved with us. Not at all an easy task, but we made it! And now the playhouse has its place in the garden. Never used as much as I would like, but still a nice plays for playing. And one day I will ask Marta if she wants to paint the inside walls. She can choose the colours herself.

What an adorable playhouse! I once saw the inside of one painted up like an aquarium inside. The little girl loved the fish and sea life.

Our kids had a tree house (two stories and they could climb up a ladder to the roof). Once they were grown and the trees grew bigger, it got rickety so we took it apart. Now with a new granddaughter, we are thinking about building another one. Maybe next summer when she's two.

I always wanted a playhouse or treehouse, but never got one. Now I have a potting shed!

How wonderful to have a place to play and dream. I love the flower box at the front!

I really love this! My almost constant dream growing up was for a playhouse. I was always drawing pictures of it, and drawing out floorplans. The little house never did happen, but the dream never died...
