Growing nasturtium

I have been away for almost a week, and came home after darkness had come last night. So this morning I had to "rediscover" my garden. Autums has come with her cold temperaturesd and alot of rain, so not much is happening in the garden actually. I am still waiting for the tomatoes to blush, most of the roses are gone, and also many of the other colours have faded. The nasturtium love this season though. After visiting Monet's garden in Giverny some years ago I always plant nasturtium, or blomkarse as we call them in Norway, in my garden. This one hasn't understood my point though. Instead of cascading and overflowing a path along the western side of the house, it grows up along the wall. I love its stubbornness.

i very much know what you mean about "rediscovering" your garden after time away...it is one of my joys upon returning home!

nasturiums are my favourite flower. my grand mother loved them. i always have them growing in the garden and containers on my deck. i think your's is a climbing nasturium. if you harvest the pods, which are also edible (as capons),as well as the flowers, you can have a sturdy stock next year
