The saddest part of autumn is the goodbyes, and the short days. Soon my mornings will be too dark to enjoy much of the garden before I head for work. The birds will get their seeds all though the winter, so I will be out every morning, but my eyes will miss their daily feed, the colours of the garden. Pink, light blue, white.....spots of treasures along every path, in every bed. I drink in the beauty, the sight, the smell, my fingertips touching the velvet surface of a late leave.
I wish I liked to cook. I "want" to like to cook. But I really don't! Anyway, just found your blogs through sheer happenstance. I'm basically a gardener in East Texas with a little decorating and stuff thrown in. I'm not familiar with your climate. I'll be back for a visit. Brenda
Though it is sad to say goodbye to autumn and the bright days, there are also a lot of positive things about the coming seasons and the long evenings inside. Cooking and having guests is one of the highlights indeed!
I live in Trondheim, Norway with my husband and two daughters. Two boys have moved out to create their own homes. I work full time, and have alot of interests, but there is hardly a day when you don't find me in the kitchen, playing with old and new recipes. And if I am not to be find it the kitchen, take a look in The Blue Garden. I am a member of the Slow Food movement and a supporter of the Slower Life. You can contact me at: knitwoman1958@yahoo.com

Britt-Arnhild, your hydrangea looks great. It is sad to say goodbye to the summer. It gets dark here at 8 p.m. - what about you?
Greetings,
I wish I liked to cook. I "want" to like to cook. But I really don't! Anyway, just found your blogs through sheer happenstance. I'm basically a gardener in East Texas with a little decorating and stuff thrown in. I'm not familiar with your climate. I'll be back for a visit.
