When you have a garden there are milestone days almost every day. The day when the first "blå valmuesøster" (Blue Poppy Sister" is a day I always look forward to. I love this flower. I had several in my old garden, but when we moved here it tok me years to find replacements. Last year I found two, and today the first one started to bloom.Every day in a gardener's life is a feast day.

I love your blue poppies. Mine, although perennial, always died after blooming. Do you find yours continue the next year after blooming?
Oh, what a wonderful blue of this poppy. It looks like the Meconopsis I saw in some gardens in Scotland last year. Did you buy the plant or the seed? Is it in a pot or in the garden? I understand so well the joy you have when seeing it bloom.

Northern Shade - I bought this poppy last year, so this is the first year of reblooming.
Barbara - I bought two plants in two small pots and replanted them in my herb garden (the only place where I founf space for them). I now see the blue flowers every time I look out the kitchen window .-)
This plant deserves the place you gave it. I would forget to cook for all the looking out of the window ;-) !!

what a beautiful flower! i've never seen a poppy like this in pennsylvania (US)....wow!!
Exquisite photos, Britt-Arnhild :) I can't grow these as the soil is not suitable for the Himalayan poppies.
