Seeds from Austria

I bought a few packets of seeds during a winter week in Austria last year. This spring I finally put them in soil, and now I can enjoy this bright deep pink dance in the Blue Garden

Dressed for a party

I am afraid autumn is coming early this year. We spent the week-end at our cabin with great plans for hiking and fishing. But constant rain kept us indoors both days. There are always alot of things to do indoors also, but I missed the wildlife challenges.

Coming home we found Litle Miss Rabbit dressed for a flower party. Rain or shine, it is always party time in The Blue Garden.

Birds Corner.

In the garden we have an old, wooden birdhouse which we fill with seeds and bread crumbs every day. The birds know about this special corner of The Blue Café and are regulars. But often when they come their corner is already occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Squirrel and one or more of their kids. The birds wait in line, some days patiently, some days making alot of noise and even starting small fights.

I want everybody to feel welcome in The Blue Café, and when I came over this ceramic house a few weeks ago, I knew it would be a perfect extention in my outdoor serving area. It is not big, and helds no more than one or two birds at a time, but it's a perfect waiting room, or may be I shall call it a bar, where the guests can have a starter while waiting for their favorite feeder to be free.

Hollyhocks.

The garden has been neglected for weeks now, time has been precious for other things. But yesterday I managed to leave work early and spent all afternoon getting to know my garden again. So many things are still blooming, and as soon as I had removed the weeds it actually looked quite nice. And we could sit down with our afternoon coffee to enjoy the beauty.
The hollyhocks started to bloom this week. With most of the roses gone, the hollyhock is the queen in The Blue Garden.

Autumn is coming.....

A summer is almost over. The days are still sunny and warm, but the nights are getting darker and it is too cold to sit outside. The garden is enjoying this season though. A full rainbow of colours can be found in the beds, the vegetable garden is visited every day before dinner, and the apples are growing. We bought our apple tree this spring, so it is still just a tiny one, but the apples looks very tempting.
I am sorry for my long absence here. We have been travelling and life has been busy. My garden is still there waiting for me every day when I come home from work, filling me with fresh energy. What a blessing!

My cup of tea

The mints are almost overgrowing the herbgarden. I walk out there every morning for a few leaves for my morning cup of tea.
